Here’s an interesting announcement about Scansoft, the people who make the Dragon Naturally Speaking voice recognition software you can use with a voice recorder, having a new version which can accomodate multiple speakers. Cost is about $12k for 4 participants. The Scansoft site has nothing about the announcement.
I’ve used the Dragon software, and it’s pretty good if you speak clearly and spend some time (an hour) on training. I’m curious to see how they’ve gotten around the training requirement in this software, or if it’s still there. I think the political ramifications of having everyone’s words recorded during a meeting could rock the very foundations of business.
